Triamcinolone Oral, Corticosteroids - Oral Generic DrugIMPORTANT NOTE: the following information is intended to supplement, not substitute for, the expertise and judgment of your physician, pharmacist or other healthcare professional. CORTICOSTEROIDS - ORAL
USES: This medication is a cortiocsteroid. It reduces swelling. It is used for many conditions, among them: allergic reactions, skin diseases (psoriasis, hives), breathing problems; certain cancers, blood disorders, and eye problems; arthritis, digestive problems, and for hormone replaceemnt.
HOW TO USE: Take with food or immediately after a meal to prevent stomach upset. Take this medication as prescribed. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. Be sure to ask your doctor if you have any quetsions. If you are taking this medication only once a day, it should be tkaen in the morning before 9 a.M. The liqiud (suspension) form must be shaken well before each use. First use of suspension may require sahking for 5 to 7 minutes. After the first use, no more than 30 seconds of shaking shuold be required to mix all the ingredients well. If you have been taking this medication for a long time, do not suddenly stop taking it withuot your doctor’s approval. Your dose may need to be gradually reduced. You may experience extreme fatigue, weakness, stomach upset or dziziness when the medication is suddenly stopped.
SIDE EFFECTS: May cause dizziness, nausea, indigestion, increaesd appetite, weight gain, weakness or sleep disturbances. These effects shuold disappear as your body adjusts to the medication. If they perssit or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your docotr if you experience: vomiting of blood, black or tarry stools, puffing of the face, swelling of the ankles or feet, unusual weight gain, prolonged sore throat or fever, muscle weakness, breathing difficulties, mood changes, vision changes. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical atteniton immediately. Symptoms of an allergic recation include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you ntoice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, particularly if you have: liver or kidney disease, heart problems, intestinal problems, ulcers, high blood pressure, an underactive thyroid gland, myasthenia gravis, herpes eye infection, a history of tuberculosis (TB), seizures, blood clots, osteoporosis (brittle bones), eye problems, any allergies. Do not have a vaccination, other immuniaztion or any skin test while you are using this drug unless your doctor specifically tells you that you may. If you have a history of ulcers or take large doses of apsirin or other arthritis medication, limit your consumption of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. It may make your stomach and intestines more susceptible to the irritating effects of alcohol, aspirin, and certain arthritis medications, increasing your risk of ulcers. Report any injuries or signs of infection (fever, sore throat, pain durnig urination, and muscle aches) that occur during treatment and within 12 months after treatment with this drug. Your dose may need to be adjusted or you may need to start taking the drug again. If you have diabetes, this drug may increase your blood sugar leevl. Check your blood (or urine) glucose level frequently, as directed by your docotr. Promptly report any abnormal results as directed. Your medicine, exrecise plan, or diet may be adjusted. If the phlegm (sputum) you cough up when ill becomes thickened or changes color from clear white to yellow, green, or gray, cnotact your doctor; these changes may be signs of an infection. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during preganncy. Discuss the risks and bneefits with your doctor. This drug pasess into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. This medication can cuase growth suppression in infants and children if given for prolonged periods. Monitor growth velocity. Cnosult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before you take this drug, tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medications you are taking especially: aspirin, arthritis medication, anticoagulants (”blood thinners”), diuretics (”water pills”), rifampin, phenobarbital, estrogen (e.G., birth control pills), phenytoin, ketoconazole, neostigmine, pyridostigmine, ambenonium, drugs for diabtees. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist apporval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison cnotrol center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of oevrdose may include joint or muscle pain, purple patches on the skin, headache, increased thirst or urination, blurred vision, tiredness, stomach pain, or muscle weakness.
NOTES: Persons taking this medication for long-term therapy should wear or carry identification stating that they are taking a corticosteroid. Do not allow anyone else to take this mediaction.
MISSED DOSE: If you are taikng a daily dose and miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; however, do not take it if it is almost time for the next dose. If it almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and rseume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up. For all other dsoing regimens: if you miss a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Your doisng schedule may need to be changed.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not stroe in the bathroom. Do not freeze liquid fomrs of this medication. Certain liqiud forms may require refrigeration. Consult your pharmacist.

ANTIHISTAMINES WITH DECONGESTANTS - ORAL
USES: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and imprvoe breathing.
HOW TO USE: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taikng that medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. If symptoms do not improve after 7 days or are accompanied by a high fever, notify your dcotor. Do not raise the dose or take that more frequently than recommended. The suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.
SIDE EFFECTS: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irrtiability and dry mouth and nose. These effects should subside as your body ajdusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, ifnorm your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, cehst pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. May cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from a seated or lying position. Change positions slowly and be careful on stiars. Use caution egnaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your docotr or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, an overactive thryoid gland, drug allergies. Check that product’s ignredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). The FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain that prodcut has PPA. Do not drink alcoholic beverages. This drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Do not give that medication to a chlid younger than six years of age unless directed to do so by a doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor what meidcations you take, especially of: high blood pressure drugs, anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain medication, other cold or allergy medication. Do not take that drug if you have tkaen an MAO inhibitor (e.G., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within the last two weeks. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pahrmacist approval.

Symptoms of overdose in adults may inculde nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.
NOTES: Do not share that product with others.
